How we approach a read

Clear writing. Honest context.

Our writing standards and the review work still needed before public launch.

The current status

The current articles are sample drafts prepared during website development with AI assistance. They are labelled as samples and await human editorial review. No clinician review, professional qualification, research finding, or organizational endorsement is claimed. The attribution “Editorial team” is used when a real author has not yet been supplied; it does not imply qualifications.

Plain language and respect

Use short sentences, familiar words, and explanations of new terms. Avoid diagnosing readers, blaming language, stereotypes, and promises that a habit will resolve a health condition. People have different circumstances and access to support. Read our content guidelines for safe messaging about sensitive subjects.

Sources and factual claims

Each article includes references for background and further reading. Prefer established public health resources and relevant primary sources. Before publication, a human editor must check that a source supports the claim being made, is current enough for the subject, and is represented fairly. A link is not an endorsement by the source.

Do not invent studies, statistics, experiences, credentials, or reviews. Explain uncertainty and distinguish a general option from individual advice. If a source or claim cannot be checked, omit it or keep the article in review.

Real editorial process: pending owner confirmation

This is a clearly marked process placeholder. The owner must provide who writes and edits articles, what qualifications each role has if any, how sources and sensitive topics are checked, whether any professional review is used, how conflicts are handled, and who approves publication. A planned workflow is not a completed review.

Authorship and review dates

Show the actual author or the neutral attribution “Editorial team.” Add a real biography only when supplied and checked. Display published and updated dates separately from a last-reviewed date. Record a review date only after the stated review happened; otherwise say that review is pending. An update date alone is not evidence of clinical review.

Corrections and updates

The owner must supply a working correction contact before launch. Once available, readers can report a page and the issue without sending health information. Check factual errors, broken references, and unclear wording. Record substantial corrections, update the relevant date, and review other pages affected by the same error. The owner still needs to set the routine review schedule.

Commercial relationships

Advertising and affiliate features are disabled by default. Any future permitted commercial link or sponsorship must be clearly disclosed. It must not shape health claims or be presented as independent evidence. Get Help and articles marked sensitive must have no ads or affiliate recommendations. Unproven treatments, supplements, and “cures” must not be promoted.

The limits of educational reading

Articles do not provide personal assessment or care. See the medical disclaimer for those limits, or Get Help for routes to support. This policy remains a draft until the owner confirms the real process and completes the required review.
